Hana Bank is one of the major domestic banks operating within South Korea. It is a subsidiary of the Hana Financial Group, a holding company that was established in 2005 that also owns Korea Exchange Bank and Hana Savings Bank. Hana Bank was converted into a commercial bank from Korea Investment & Finance in 1991 but was originally founded in 1971. It is estimated to have over 600 branches nationwide and provides traditional banking products that include deposit, lending, insurance and foreign exchange products. Its deposit product line includes Negotiable certificate of deposit (CD), foreign currency deposits. time deposits, passbook accounts and savings accounts
